Youghal
Ideally located in the Sunny South East of Ireland, with the Gulf Stream just offshore, Youghal has a mild and temperate climate with comparatively little rainfall. Situated on the estuary of the Blackwater River, with a fabulous 5 km beach facing onto the Atlantic Ocean, Youghal has been an active port for most of its existence. The town is on the border of East Cork and West Waterford. Cork city, rapidly becoming Ireland’s most popular city due to the atmosphere and ambience of its streets, is only 45 minutes away, The centre is mainly car free, ideal for leisurely strolling, Sightseeing and shopping.
The countryside of West Waterford is one of Ireland’s hidden gems, an area of outstanding and unspoilt natural beauty. The mountains offer spectacular and safe hill walking with views of the coastline below. Along the coast are some of Irelands best sandy beaches, ideal for swimming, walking and a barbeque on the rocks. In between the river meanders through forested estate land and ancient towns.
